A DIY kit for you to upgrade your Tri-Vista 21 Tube DAC to Stage 2 level.

A further step-up from the maudifi Stage 1.5 upgrade for the Tri-Vista 21 Tube DAC, this step focuses on the main DAC printed circuit board.  Even greater detail retrieval and clarity over the previous stages, but also increased soundstage width and depth, reduced graininess, better instrument separation, even darker background and generally an immersive musical experience.  With respect to sound quality, the Stage 2 makes the Tri-Vista 21 competitive against the current generation of high-end DACs.

Stage 2 – Main DAC PCB

• All op-amps replaced with higher quality monolithic op-amps.
  • Turned pin DIL sockets included to make future upgrades easy.
• Replacements for all generic electrolytic decoupling capacitors with function specific ones,
  • Includes high audio-grade ones, particularly around the DAC and subsequent analogue stages.
  • There are a lot of them.
  • The non-audio related ones are also replaced for longevity.
• Additional bypass film capacitors
• Ceramic bypass capacitors around op-amps replaced with polyester/PET ones.
• Replace large local valve stage bypass capacitors.
• ClarityCap polypropylene film capacitors for valve stage input coupling
• ClarityCap polypropylene film capacitors for output coupling
• Replacement grommet mounts for the tubes, as these stiffen with heat over the years.

All electronic components are from leading manufacturers, including Wima, Burr Brown, Texas Instruments, Nichicon and ClarityCap.
