A maudifi Stage 2 upgrade service for Musical Fidelity’s A5cr power amplifer.  This powerhouse of an amplifier is from what many believe was Musical Fidelity’s peak era.  They are rugged and rewarding, yet there is plenty of untapped potential within.  Think wider and deeper soundstage with greater detail and refinement with this maudifi upgrade.

The Stage 2 goes significantly beyond the performance of the Stage 1 upgrade, itself a considerable improvement over a stock unit, to offer greater clarity of vocals and detail, improved separation between instruments and better depiction of recording space and scale.

• 8 x noise snubbing capacitors added
• 12 x Reservoir capacitor upgrades with 45% greater capacity
• 4 x bypass capacitors added
• 2 x maudifi CapAdapt-70 modules added to support large film capacitors for input coupling
• 2 x input coupling capacitors upgraded with ClarityCap polypropylene film capacitors
• 2 x Bipolar electrolytic capacitor upgrades with high audio grade types
• 2 x Electrolytic capacitors replaced with film types
• 4 x Electrolytic capacitors in control circuits replaced for longevity
• 2 x polyester capacitors upgraded to polypropylene
• Output speaker wiring upgraded [Neotech UP-OCC in PTFE]
• Power wiring upgraded [Neotech UP-OCC in PTFE]
• Options:
  • Custom to suit your requirements inc. boutique capacitors, connectors (e.g. KLEI, Furutech), etc.  Ask about this.
• Certificate & equipment label
• Amplifier not included.  This is an upgrade service only.  You must supply your own amplifier.  This will be returned to you following the upgrade service.
